39000 rpm doyusha experiment

Postby Richie-from-brooklyn » Fri Jul 07, 2017 4:56 pm

I tried to make this car faster by changing the motor to the doyusha tornado, i found out that its NOT possible. The controller in the car is limiting the amps :(

It seems that unless someone can figure out how to overcome this, the stock motor is best suited to this controller.

the japan cup motor was working, pretty well at 3.6 volts then I uped it to 4.9 and it drove very very fast but blew up the controller after about 30 seconds. That was with a trustfire 3.7 PLUS a 1.2 duracell. When i drove it at 4.5 with alkalines it was slower than the 3.6 volt version. So i will try again with this japan cup motor, but try to keep the voltage to 4.4. 2 nickel zinc batteries and a duracell. I will keep you updated on my progress.

Oh you're gonna blow some stuff up, the Microprocessor and associated voltage regulator are pretty sensitive, otherwise fast motors are Cool, Good Luck,

After analyzing this problem in my mind, and some research from you tube, I have come up with a solution. I am going to run the motor with a separate esc/reciever, the one that i will try is from a wltoys 1/28 rally car. I will control the power and throttle with one controller and steer with the AI controller.I am going to run both systems from the same 4.9v battery in the car, using one trustfire 3.7 600mah, aluminum foil in the middle battery and one 1.2 duracel 1000 mah. I ordered lots of parts 2 more hot wheels sets, a 50,000 rpm doyusha dragon, 2 wltoys k989s and some wire and a soldering kit.

I'll keep you guys updated, Im 100 percent sure this will work

awesome racetracks, would be a blast to race there lol, here is one track idea that i have had success with, I turned the crossover into a jump by leaving the middle part with out track or the plastic center bar. Its easy to jump this with the 4.9v mod and stock motor.

wltoys k929 came today looks to be an easy parts swap, ill just use the motor and esc and battery from that car on the hot wheels car. but first ill test out the wltoys car a little.

Im getting closer, i mounted the esc/reciever from the wltoys car and installed the japan cup 2017 motor, now i just need the connector.

ok, so i ended up using the stock motor but at 7.4v with a separate esc, the car is super fast but only reads the track in reverse. I disconnected the motor from the hot wheels circuit board, maybe it has to stay connected? im not sure but will try to figure this out.

if anyone has any idea, please help
